When Ryan Kent left Rangers, some fans might’ve thought it would be for bigger and better things.
A money spinning free-contract move to Fenerbahce at a time of great investment in Istanbul would’ve had Ryan Kent hoping to make a lasting impression in Turkey.
But things – as they so often do for British players moving to the Super Lig – never quite turned out as planned.
A lack of opportunities and a startling lack of form have contributed to a disappointing season in Turkey with Ryan Kent facing an uncertain future under the management of Jose Mourinho.
With reports suggesting the winger is potentially set to quit Fenerbahce this window, one Premier League club could be about to offer the former Rangers attacker an English reprieve and the chance to revive his career.

Kent lined up by Premier League side
Ipswich Town have been busy making moves this summer as they look to revamp their squad.
The Tractor Boys earned Premier League promotion from the Championship last season and have wasted no time in breaking their transfer record.
In has come the Omari Hutchison from Chelsea in a £20m record deal.
Rangers-linked Ben Johnson was not long joining him after being released by West Ham United.
Now – at least according to one local journalist – ex-Liverpool winger Ryan Kent could be the latest name who joins up with Kieran McKenna’s ambitious side.
According to Darren Witcoop, Kent is set to leave Fenerbahce this summer and is currently ‘exploring his options’.
One of them could be Ipswich Town, with Kieran McKenna named as a ‘big fan’ of the £7m former Rangers winger.
Two unnamed Championship sides are also cited as being interested in bringing Kent back to England.
Rangers reunion at Tractor Boys?
Ryan Kent is arguably the most technically gifted player to play for Rangers in recent seasons.
Signed under Steven Gerrard, there is a reason the Ibrox club broke the bank to sign the talented dribbler although Kent’s final season left a lot to be desired.
A constant thorn in Celtic’s side, the winger played a hugely influential role in that run to the Europa League Final but struggled to turn it on when the chips were down.
Rangers relied on the winger too heavily and his inconsistent returns – Kent scored only three goals in his final season in Glasgow – ultimately cost the club.
A failure to cash in when the now 27-year-old’s stock was highest amid £15m interest from Leeds United was also a poor decision in retrospect.
Making only 18 appearances for Fenerbahce last season, Kent has played one domestic game for the Turks in 2024.
Undoubtedly a talented footballer, could a move to Ipswich Town and the Premier League reignite the former Ibrox hero’s stuttering career?
Any move to Portman Road would also see Ryan Kent link up with a former Ibrox teammate.
Whilst there has been exit chatter aplenty, for the time being ex-Gers star George Edmundson is part of Kieran McKenna’s Ipswich squad.
