High-profile Rangers star may have played final game for club - report

Rangers midfielder Aaron Ramsey may have played his final game for the club as reports emerge in Italy suggesting he has a season-ending hamstring injury.

The Welsh international midfielder’s career has been defined by stuttering injuries as of late and the Juventus star has struggled for fitness since joining the Gers on deadline day in January.

A wonderfully talented player, the fact Ramsey has struggled for fitness has been a blight on the second half of the campaign as Rangers failed to properly strengthen in January.

Amid a 12-point swing in the Scottish Premiership title race, moments like the Aaron Ramsey signing will go down as huge ones as the Gers stumbled after the winter break.

The Daily Record are claiming that Gazzetta dello Sport are the ones who claim that Aaron Ramsey could’ve played his final game for Rangers in disappointing news to supporters.

The midfielder has began to show his quality in recent matches – without blowing us away – and after hobbling out of the eventual 2-1 Scottish Cup win over Celtic his season could be over.

Aaron Ramsey to return to Juventus in the summer?

In addition, another report in Italy is claiming that Aaron Ramsey also won’t be joining Rangers when his loan deal expires at the end of the season.

Again via the Daily Record link, it’s Calcio Pillole who are reporting that the player himself has made his mind up regarding a potential return to Scotland.

They claim Ramsey has no intention of making his Rangers switch permanent and will return to Juventus in the summer with his future still undecided.

Whilst we’d be taking all this with a pinch of salt until it’s confirmed by the club or anyone close to the club, here’s what Aaron Ramsey had to say on his future when asked earlier in the month.

“Now is not the time to go into too much detail,” said Ramsey [Rangers].

“I still have a year left at Juventus so I will have to reassess the situation in the summer and see what they are thinking and we will go from there.

“Those are thoughts and discussions to be having after the season so no update on that.”

Meanwhile, a clip of Rangers fans celebrating in the Celtic end at Hampden has gone viral on social media.
