Galatasaray fans have urged Ianis Hagi to push for a transfer to the Turkish giants after he tweeted about returning to training at Rangers.

Hagi only joined the Gers on a permanent deal from Genk last summer following a successful loan spell, but he’s been the subject of transfer speculation for some time.

Teams like Lazio and Sevilla are said to be keen [Daily Record], while there have also been murmurs of Gala interest.

There’s a big link between Hagi and the Super Lig side, given that his father is a legendary figure there, and Ianis himself has admitted that he hopes to play there one day [Glasgow Live].

There’s no hard evidence to suggest a move is on the cards anytime soon, but it seems as though the Istanbul outfit’s fanbase is becoming impatient.

On Tuesday, Hagi tweeted a photo of himself guzzling water at Auchenhowie alongside a caption that referenced completing a fitness test and the first day of pre-season before ending: “Season 2021-22 here we gooo.”

The 22-year-old appears to be happy to be back despite the club seemingly denying him the opportunity to represent Romania at the upcoming Tokyo Olympics.

However, plenty of Galatasary fans still responded to the tweet asking him to push for an immediate transfer to Turkey.

Here’s a selection of reactions:

Hagi looks relatively settled despite these clamours, but Rangers fans did express concerns about a fellow Ibrox star’s Instagram post on Tuesday, interpreting it as a farewell message.
