Former Rangers striker Kyle Lafferty has made an intriguing move to Cypriot top-flight club Anorthosis Famagusta after his controversial Kilmarnock exit.
The 33-year-old spent the final months of the 2020/21 season at Rugby Park and produced remarkable form, scoring 13 goals in 13 appearances.

However, the Ayrshire club were still relegated and although talks were opened regarding an extension, he didn’t stay on.
Earlier this month, the Northern Ireland international accused Killie of ‘throwing players under the bus’ but the club hit back, claiming that he had asked for four times the wages he had previously been on.
It hasn’t taken him long to move on from that saga, though, with Anorthosis Famagusta announcing that they had reached an agreement in principle to sign him – pending a successful medical – on Saturday.
A one-year contract has been accepted by Lafferty at what will be the 14th club of his career.

“We welcome the footballer to our team and wish him every success! [translated]”, concluded a statement on Anorthosis’s official website.
Anorthosis have won the Cypriot First Division 13 times but not since 2007/08.
They finished fourth in the league last season and they also won the Cypriot Cup, so they will have a shot at European football during the upcoming campaign.
In other news, Rangers will reportedly have to pay £500k in order to land an in-demand transfer target.
