An agreement between Rangers and FC Porto regarding the future of Alfredo Morelos is still “miles away” despite intensifying claims surrounding the transfer.
That’s according to the Scottish Sun, who claim the Gers and the Dragons still need to iron out a transfer fee for one of Ibrox’s biggest assets.
This report claims that Porto remain reluctant to splash out more than £10m upfront and want to structure the move with a range of add-ons that would see additional fees paid at a later date.
The Sun claim this is “not suitable” to Rangers who believe the Gers won’t entertain offers below £15m for the feisty Colombian.
These claims come after a week of links between Morelos and Porto which intensified after a leading Portuguese radio station claimed the Rangers star will turn out at the Estádio do Dragão next season.
There has also been a considerable amount of conjecture regarding the transfer fee with talk of a £10m bid being imminent and Porto pulling out of the deal due to Rangers’ demands.
One Latvian journalist even claimed the deal could wind up between £17m (€20m) and £21.5m (€25m) as claims from Turkey suggested Porto were stepping up their interest.

Whatever the case, it appears Rangers are standing firm with their valuation of the striker and if FC Porto are serious about a deal they better expect to stump up.
The idea Rangers won’t be budged regarding Alfie – who is contracted until 2023 and has a shot at the Champions League next season – will be music to the ears of Gers fans.
