Former Rangers winger Fashion Sakala appears to be poised to make a return to British football this summer.
Sakala left Ibrox in 2023, when he moved to Saudi Pro League side Al-Fayha for a £4m fee.
Since his exit, he has thrived in the Middle East, scoring 40 goals in 96 appearances in all competitions.
Rangers were aware of the Zambian’s potential, which is why they included a sell-on clause in the deal.

Fashion Sakala emerges as serious target for English clubs including Middlesbrough
According to the Scottish Sun, Sakala is a serious target for a number of English clubs this summer.
Middlesbrough are also keeping close tabs on the 28-year-old as they have been impressed with his performances since leaving the Light Blues.
Scouts from England as well as France have tracked Sakala, and a summer move is certainly on the cards for him.

While this would have been good news for Rangers as they would have pocketed a fee from any sale, he will be moving on a free transfer.
His contract at Al-Fayha runs out at the end of the season and he will not be signing an extension there.
The Light Blues will have otherwise watched this situation with bated breath, but now hold no interest in how much he sells for.

Did Rangers make the right decision in selling Sakala?
Looking at Sakala shining in Saudi Arabia, many fans may think that the club were premature in selling him.
In terms of the financial outlook, selling him for the fee they did ensured that they made a 100 per cent profit.
Also, even if the club wanted to keep him, they would not have been able to match the wages he was being offered in the Middle East.
Michael Beale also failed to build a proper side that could bring out the best in Sakala, so it is hard to fault the hierarchy for cashing in on him when they had the opportunity.
The player and manager did not always see eye to eye, either and the last few weeks had become pretty bad, so as long as Beale was there, the Zambian would not have featured for the first team.
