Steven Gerrard made several attempts to solve the right wing problem for Rangers with Leeds Utd’s Crysencio Summerville, one of many names mentioned.
As a youngster struggling to get into the first team whilst under Marcelo Bielsa, the Netherlands international was tipped to move to Ibrox and join a squad in need of pace and numbers from the wing.
Rangers will need to back Philippe Clement when the window opens in January but, after a transfer report by Fabrizio Romano, there is little chance of Crysencio Summerville heading to Glasgow.

Crysencio Summerville now out of Rangers reach
The 22-year old’s numbers since October have been incredible, 10 goals and five assists to be precise, which makes him one of the UK’s hottest properties.
A reported £20m bid in the summer was rejected and now Aston Villa are said be eyeing a January move, a move likely to be resisted by Leeds as they look to get back into the Premier League.
Summerville joins a long list of players who were linked with a move to Rangers only to choose somewhere else or for us not to bid, for whatever reason.
He is exactly the template that our recruitment team should be following though.
When Rangers were sniffing about, he had potential but was rough around the edges.
The raw qualities to be a success were there though.
Philippe Clement needs more clinical players in attack, more depth on the wings and players who can make the club money in the future.
Crysencio Summerville is miles out of Rangers price range now but he could have been an Ibrox favourite if the i’s could have been dotted and the t’s crossed.
A young, exciting, productive winger should be near the top of the manager’s post Christmas shopping list, however, Summerville’s name will now be added to the many that have been scored out over the last few seasons.
Rangers need to not just find these players when they are young, they need to sign them too.
