Rangers are on the hunt for additional firepower this transfer window.
The Gers still look short in the final third after losing a number of goals from the club’s stuttering forward line last season.
With the jury still out on Cyriel Dessers, and Brazilian striker Danilo only just returning from injury, Rangers fans are hoping for one more senior option to come into the club this window.
But according to Fabrizio Romano, one potential option from the Scotland international set-up will not be moving to Ibrox after agreeing a surprise transfer to Spain.

McBurnie strikes surprise Spanish deal
Oliver McBurnie is never too far away from links to Rangers.
The Scotland international striker, 28, might’ve been born in Leeds but he holds a strong affinity to the Ibrox club and is never shy in nailing his Rangers colours to the mast.
But despite McBurnie admitting he’d be open to a move to Rangers after leaving Sheffield United in the summer, a move to sunny Spain beckons for the lanky hitman.
At least that’s according to Fabrizio Romano, who claims that Oliver McBurnie has struck a deal with La Liga side Las Palmas.
Romano claims that free-agent McBurnie is scheduled to undergo a medical on Friday ahead of his permanent move to Gran Canaria.
Rangers striker hunt goes on
The deal to bring Oliver McBurnie to Spain will settle any suggestion that the hitman could’ve filled the striker void at Rangers.
Whilst there has been no official suggestion Rangers wanted to take McBurnie to the club this summer, there have been routine links to Ibrox throughout the striker’s career.
Perhaps there was an opportunity to strike a deal this summer following the expiration of McBurnie’s contact at Sheffield United, a club the striker moved to in a £20m deal from Swansea in 2019.
Attentions will now turn to who Rangers might be interested in signing to fill the striker berth.
Whilst McBurnie has found himself out of the Scotland picture as of late, another Scotland international forward in Lawrence Shankland has been linked to Rangers once again.
Another bluenose hitman who has made no bones about his Ibrox loyalties, the links have polarised supporters as Rangers look to strengthen the Ibrox forward line.
