The future of Rangers captain James Tavernier remains firmly up in the air heading into Champions League qualification.
The Gers are little over two weeks out from the beginning of the Scottish Premiership too, with that Tynecastle clash against Hearts in a fortnight looming large.
Rangers will then face either Dynamo Kiev or Partizan Belgrade a few days later and it remains unclear if James Tavernier will be in situ for either game.
But now the Rangers captain himself has spoken – at least virtually – for the first time since reports of a rejected bid from Turkish Super Lig side Trabzonspor.

Tavernier deletes Champions League reaction
Rangers fans have has plenty to say about the Champions League draw against Dynamo Kiev or Partizan Belgrade.
Whilst plenty believe it’s a favourable tie considering some of the other options, the message from the support is clear; we need more quality to progress.
James Tavernier has been over the course for Rangers in European qualification plenty of times and the Gers would certainly miss the skipper’s experience at this level.
But whilst the transfer reports rage, Tavernier has been causing a stir on Instagram after he quickly deleted a one word response to the club’s Champions League draw.
The Ibrox captain had said ‘pop’ in response to Rangers’ official post after the draw was made in Switzerland.
Rangers captain not short of transfer suitors
James Tavernier is certainly not short of suitors this summer.
The Rangers captain has reportedly been subject to formal interest from Trabzonspor, with an initial offer to join Borna Barisic and John Lundstram in Turkey rebuffed by the Gers.
Tavernier’s former Ibrox manager Giovanni van Bronckhorst is also believed to be interested in taking the right-back to Besiktas.
Outside of Turkey, interest has been mooted in England, France, Greece and Saudi Arabia – but for the time being Tavernier remains a Rangers player.
Rangers coach Alex Rae has even suggested that the right-back remains an ‘integral’ part of the squad and until a suitable asking price is met, we don’t suspect that will change.
With the Gers in desperate need of transfer cash, the Rangers captain is one of four being lined up to provide an £11.5m boost to the club’s transfer kitty.
