Former Rangers talent Ciaran Dickson has been spotted with a Celtic shirt in leaked photographs which appear to show him signing for the Parkhead club.

The 19-year-old midfielder made his first-team debut for Rangers last season as he came on as a substitute in the 4-0 League Cup win over Falkirk.

Dickson’s progress at Ibrox was even rewarded with a new contract which saw him tied down on terms until 2023 in only January this year.

However, come the summer Dickson headed up a name of ten Rangers Academy youngsters who were set to leave the club as his contract was apparently torn up.

The reasons for this remain a mystery as no one at Rangers has confirmed why but amid links to Premier League Burnley, the midfielder now appears Parkhead bound.

However, the Athletic’s Rangers correspondent Jordan Campbell has previously discussed the reasons why Dickson had his contract ripped up just months after signing it.

This comes amid reports of a bust-up with the Ibrox hierarchy.

“He was one of the standout players in the UEFA Youth League but questions over his discipline never seemed to be far away,” said Campbell [the Athletic].

“I understand he was allowed to travel to Sheffield United last summer to train but he was given another opportunity after impressing Gerrard, who is said to have empathised with his background, in training.

“I believe he didn’t turn up for training once, though, and that was the beginning of the end really, given how big Gerrard is on commitment and trust.

“It’s a shame it’s ended this way as he has the talent to go on to have a good career. It will be interesting to see which club he goes to next.”

Rangers fans will be hoping Dickson now doesn’t come back to haunt them having come through the Academy at Ibrox.

Meanwhile, one family member has given an update regarding the situation surrounding one heavily exit-linked Gers star reportedly set to leave Ibrox.
