The Star reports that divisive former Rangers player Josh Windass could complete a move from Wigan Athletic to Sheffield Wednesday by the weekend.
The 26-year-old attacker has been the subject of considerable transfer interest across the summer.

Receivers are currently in control of Wigan Athletic’s finances and it’s suggested that three clubs have had bids accepted in the region of the £500,000 fee that the Latics still owe the Gers from 2018.
The Star report goes on to claim that Windass – who is currently training alone in a bid to work up match fitness – has chosen Wednesday and that the Yorkshire club are ‘very confident’ the deal will soon go through.
Garry Monk’s side kick-off their competitive season with a first-round EFL Cup clash at Walsall on Saturday and it’s thought Windass could be through the door in time to be available.

Last week, Sun journalist, Alan Nixon, made it clear that Rangers were in line to land the six-figure sum paid for their former player and it looks like Wednesday’s money could be on the way to Ibrox soon.
If the Gers do finally receive between £450,000 and £500,000 for the Englishman, it’ll be the most they’ve picked up from a transfer so far this summer.
Greg Docherty was sold to Hull City for £400,000 [Hull Daily Mail], Matt Polster joined New England Revolution for £300,000 [Scottish Sun] and Ross McCrorie left for Aberdeen on an initial loan deal with an obligation to buy next summer for £350,000 [Evening Express].
Steven Gerrard will hope that the cash from the imminent Windass deal will be available to reinvest in his squad, as he continues his search for a new midfielder.
