Rangers could receive approximately £450k if Sheffield Wednesday sign former Gers attacker Josh Windass from Wigan Athletic, according to the Sun journalist, Alan Nixon.
Windass was a divisive figure at Ibrox between 2016 and 2018, during which he scored 19 goals and registered 13 assists in 73 appearances in all competitions.

His stats show strong contributions in the final third for a player who was rarely deployed as an out-and-out striker, yet, he often found himself receiving criticism for his work-rate.
Ultimately, Steven Gerrard opted to cash in on the Englishman prior to the 2018/19 season, selling him to Wigan for approximately £2m [Scotsman].
He struggled at the Latics during the first half of the 2019/20 campaign, though, and joined Sheffield Wednesday on a short-term loan in January.
The 26-year-old scored three times in nine appearances for the Owls and it’s now reported that they are trying to bring him in from Wigan – who are in dire financial straits – on a permanent deal [The Star].

Nixon claims that the deal hinges on Wednesday paying around £450k to Rangers, the amount Wigan owe the Gers.
Rangers could soon receive £450k if Windass joins Sheffield Wednesday from Wigan – Verdict
There has been plenty of transfer business going on at Ibrox this summer, with a number of players joining and departing the club.
Greg Docherty left for Hull City last week for a fee in the region on £400,000 [Sky Sports], while Ross McCrorie is on loan at Aberdeen, with the Dons obligated to buy the Scotland U21 skipper for around £350,000 next summer [Edinburgh Live].
Yet, this prospective deal, which won’t require any leg work on Rangers’ part, could be the most lucrative for the club so far this window.
A fee in the region of half a million pounds for a player who left the Gers two years ago would provide a great boost to the club’s finances and could contribute to further investment in the playing squad before the window shuts.
