Rangers-linked England international goalkeeper Sam Johnstone is set to leave West Brom this summer – but reports suggest it’ll be for Tottenham Hotspur or Man United.
The Gers have been linked with a move for the 29-year-old as the club looks towards the summer window and potentially replacing club legend Allan McGregor.

The Rangers goalie has shown signs of decline this season and at 40-years-old it remains unclear if Greegsy will be offered a new contract when his current one expires in the summer.
But whilst Sam Johnstone might’ve been many Rangers fans first choice to replace their legendary number one, it appears the three-times capped England stopper’s future lies elsewhere.
Sky Sports are reporting that Premier League sides Tottenham Hotspur and Man United – with whom Sam Johnstone came through the youth ranks – are leading the chase for the player.
The report claims Johnstone is “keen” on a return to the Premier League with Southampton named amongst “a number of other clubs” interested.
Steve Bruce confirms Sam Johnstone to leave club amid Rangers, Man United, Tottenham links
This news comes after West Brom manager Steve Bruce admitted over the weekend that Sam Johnstone would likely be leaving the Hawthorns when his contract expires this summer.
This is amid frustrations amongst Baggies fans regarding the situation.
“They’re [fans are] right to voice their concern,” said Bruce [Birmingham Live].
“The biggest disappointment for me is that he [Sam Johnstone] is out of contract. However, it’s football these days, it’s something that has been going around for years.
“We’re probably going to lose our biggest asset on a Bosman (free transfer), which is not great for everybody. The supporters are right (to be concerned), but he’s a very good goalkeeper.

“He’s been a very good goalkeeper here for years. Wasn’t he the player of the year last year? That doesn’t change because he makes a mistake or because he’s out of contract.
“He will be disappointed. Everyone makes mistakes, it’s how you react and recover from it and I’m confident Sam [Johnstone] will do that.”
Attention will now turn to who Rangers target in the position with Jon McLaughlin and Robby McCrorie the other two first-team stoppers in the squad.
Rangers have also been extensively linked to one player currently plying his trade in Germany but there are “doubts” regarding his ability.
