Rangers are reportedly keen on securing the services of Motherwell winger Elijah Just in the summer transfer window.

Despite recent results, Danny Rohl retains the backing of the board and will be given the financial muscle needed to build a solid team for next season.

Rangers are prioritising a move for Just, but have yet to touch base with the New Zealand international’s representatives.

Who do you see replacing him?

Elijah Just admits speculation away from Motherwell is nice to hear

Just has stated that he is pleased to hear that he’s being linked with a move away from Motherwell, as that means that he is doing something right and things are going well for him.

The right winger revealed that he’s looking forward to the World Cup and believes that this season has prepared him well for it.

However, he did not state that his future lies with Motherwell, which could be viewed as a positive for Rangers and any club looking to secure his services.

Usually, when players do not want to leave their clubs, they state that, but the 26-year-old did not do that.

Just is also enjoying an impressive campaign at Fir Park, scoring seven goals and providing eight assists in 32 league games.

Discussing his future, he said: “It’s (transfer speculation) definitely been something new because, yeah, I’ve not had a season as successful as this one so far in my career.

“But in terms of dealing with it, it hasn’t been too difficult. It’s pretty easy for me to focus on the football. I look forward to every game, and every training, so there’s never really a time where I’m thinking about something else.

“Also with the World Cup, I know that I need to be focused all throughout the season, also in the summer.

“So yeah, it’s been nice to hear, of course. When you’re hearing these things, it means you’re playing well. But yeah, not too difficult for me to focus.

“It’s been perfect, perfect and more. It was definitely one of my goals when I was looking to move last summer.”

How much will Rangers need to pay to sign Just?

Motherwell signed Just on a free transfer, but will be aware of the interest shown in his services.

If he wants to leave, they could pit the two Old Firm sides up against each other to spark a bidding war, as Celtic are also keen on securing his services.

It could take around £2m to sign him this summer, as Motherwell could justify that he’s only 26, proven in the Scottish Premiership, and will be in his prime for the next three or four seasons.

The Gers’ recent signings have struggled to adapt to life in Scotland and have not hit the ground running, so they may fancy a punt on Just.
