Dundee defender Luke Graham has been linked with a summer move to Rangers and Celtic.

The 22-year-old has been doing well at Dens Park, and that has led to manager Steven Pressley addressing his future.

Graham has made 25 league appearances this season, being one of Pressley’s first names on the team sheet.

Steven Pressley namedrops Rangers as Luke Graham transfer speculation ramps up

Rangers are seriously considering signing Graham in the summer transfer window.

Technical director Dan Purdy has already scouted him over the weekend, and it seems like the Gers have identified him as among their top targets at the end of the season.

It is understood that while Pressley and Dundee are reluctant to part ways with him, they would consider selling him for over £2m amid links to the Ibrox outfit.

The Dundee manager admits that he was surprised that neither Rangers nor Celtic attempted to sign him in the January transfer window.

He believes that the Scotland Under-21 international is destined for the Premier League, but is a few steps away from getting to that level.

Discussing the young defender’s future, Pressley said: “The only thing that surprised me was that neither Celtic or Rangers looked to be pursuing him in January.

“He’s maybe a couple of steps away, but I believe that Luke’s a Premier League player.

“News of them being interested doesn’t surprise me at all.

“Normally young players can be affected by this situation, but Luke’s performances have improved during what has been quite an uncertain period for him which says a lot about him.”

How Danny Rohl can get the best out of Graham at Ibrox

As Graham is naturally left-footed and exceptional with his distribution, he would slot in seamlessly as the left-sided centre-back.

Danny Rohl likes his centre-backs to split up while initiating attacks, and the 22-year-old seems an astute tactical fit in that system.

Graham is also strong in the air as he’s 6 feet 3 inches tall, and much like Emmanuel Fernandez, can offer a threat from set pieces.

The Dundee defender is also capable of playing a high line, as he’s got an engine on him and is capable of covering the space left behind.

Signing him makes a lot of sense, particularly if Fernandez leaves Ibrox in the summer.
