It has been a quiet transfer window across the footballing world so far, however, there is one move that Rangers fans will have an eye on.
Unfortunately, it isn’t one that sees Philippe Clement strengthen his squad, instead, it is a high-profile homecoming for one of the biggest names in the game.
Neymar has had a difficult couple of years and has now decided to finish his career where it started in such exciting fashion at Santos where Pedro Caixinha will, incredibly, be his manager and could still be joined by a former Rangers striker in attack.

Dream move for Josh Windass to join Neymar still on the cards
No, not Alfredo Morelos, the Colombian has agreed a return to Nacional on loan with an option to buy and he won’t get the chance to be reunited with Caixinha or to play with Neymar after all.
Despite reports claiming that it was a bizarre one or the other situation, USA based journalist Tom Bogert, who broke both James Sands’ and Jose Cifuentes’ moves to Rangers, is suggesting that Josh Windass could yet earn a dream transfer:
“Santos still pursuing Sheffield Wednesday forward Josh Windass. Wednesday don’t want to sanction a January exit.
“Santos just signed Brazilian legend Neymar. Still interested in bringing in Windass.”
Wednesday currently sit just three points from fifth place and the play-off positions in the Championship and clearly reticent to lose their in-form top goalscorer.
How likely is Windass’ move to Brazil?
Windass has addressed the link to Santos already, suggesting that the original fee of £10m might be a bit wide of the mark.
Caixinha, of course, worked with Windass at Rangers too and is looking to team him up with fellow thirty-something Neymar.
Bogert isn’t prone to making wild claims either so, if he says Santos are still interested, then the Brazilians must be keen to do a deal.
Put yourself in Windass’ shoes, the chance to move to Brazil and play with, arguably, the third best player of the last 10-15 years, or the weekly grind of the English Championship?
Loyalty is a rare thing in football, but with 70 goal contributions in 165 games, the 31-year old deserves the opportunity of a lifetime and for his club to put the player first.
