Doncaster manager Grant McCann has told the Doncaster Free Press he’s positive his club will secure a loan deal for a player who played in last season’s Europa League.
That’s after a Daily Record report claimed Rangers winger Glenn Middleton will spend the season with the League One outfit.
“That is at an advanced stage,” he told the Doncaster Free Press when asked on the swoop for the player with European experience. “It’s just getting the timing right of when it’ll be done.
“That deal will happen. I’m 100 per cent sure that will happen. “When? I’m not so sure because there are a couple of things that need to happen at his club first.
“I’m in real advanced talks with the player and with his agent, who I know really well, and he is assuring me he is going nowhere else than Doncaster. The boy has already been looking for houses and apartments in Doncaster.
“We’re in advanced talks on that one and it’s just about getting it over the line between both clubs, which won’t be a problem.”
McCann wouldn’t be drawn on the player’s identity, but when you match his comments with the reports, it seems clear it’s Middleton being spoken about.
The Donny manager is a bluenose himself and is no doubt enjoying the prospect of bringing a player in from Ibrox.

The Rovers fans are excited by the prospect, too.
At 19, it’s important that Middleton develops this season. Therefore, it’s likely McCann has given Stevie G assurances that he intends to give the exciting winger plenty of game time.
All we’re waiting on now is an official announcement.
