Derek McInnes is keen to bring another key Hearts man to Rangers after he takes charge as their new head coach.

The Light Blues looked set to head into the 2026-27 season with Rohl at the helm after Andrew Cavenagh publicly backed him at the end of the last campaign, but after a sudden turn of events, the German is on his way to Red Bull Salzburg.

Rangers made clear they have no interest in another prolonged manager hunt, having struck a deal to appoint McInnes as their new boss on a three-year contract.

This means the Govan club will quickly turn their attention back to their transfer business, with several priorities expected to be addressed ahead of pre-season.

What would your concerns be about Derek McInnes replacing Danny Rohl?

McInnes wants to bring Claudio Braga to Ibrox

According to TransferFeed, McInnes wants to bring Claudio Braga to Rangers after he takes the reins at Ibrox.

The Glaswegian outfit have already snapped up Lawrence Shankland from Hearts, with McInnes now set to follow suit.

Rangers may now raid their Premiership rivals for the third time this season, as the 54-year-old is determined to replicate the partnership between Shankland and Braga at Ibrox.

The Gers signed Shankland on a free transfer, thanks to a special clause in his contract at Hearts, while McInnes is only costing them a six-figure sum.

However, Braga is certain to cost a hefty sum, especially as the Edinburgh-based club rejected a £5million offer from Portuguese club Braga in January.

Hearts would want £8-10m to even consider sanctioning a transfer for the 26-year-old this summer.

McInnes and Co. would also have to beat competition from Celtic, Brighton and Crystal Palace if they want to lure Braga to the club.

Now that Danny Rohl seems set to leave Rangers, how would you rate his time at the club?

What it means for Rangers

After arriving from Aalesunds FK for a six-figure fee last summer, Braga bagged 17 goals and six assists in 44 appearances across all competitions in his debut season at Hearts.

McInnes reuniting the Portuguese forward with Shankland at Ibrox would set off the fireworks at the club.

However, that is likely to mean bad news for Youssef Chermiti, who has been the subject of enquiries from the Premier League and other clubs.

Bojan Miovski may also be forced out of the club if Braga is signed.
