No sooner has Danilo signed for Rangers than the Brazilian striker will be joining up with teammates and going through the usual pre-match rituals for the final pre-season friendly of the summer.

The Light Blues travel to Germany to face Hoffenheim this weekend and there is good news for Michael Beale.

Danilo will be travelling and be in the squad as Rangers look to finish on a better note than the one that left a sour taste in the mouth at Ibrox against Olympiacos, as revealed on the club’s official website.

Danilo is good to go for Rangers

Fitness isn’t an issue for the 24-year old having completed a full pre-season with Feyenoord.

He also, already, looked sharper than any of the forwards that we had seen for Rangers so far.

Given the £6m deal being reported by Sky Sports, Danilo isn’t being signed by Rangers to sit on the bench and not be a key player.

There will be games where Michael Beale is more pragmatic and the physicality of Cyriel Dessers will be preferred with pace in support or an attacking midfielder.

Domestically though, and at Ibrox, Rangers fans should be looking forward to a strike pairing that, on paper, looks as though it could be a winner.

An obvious target man with good feet who can also scores goals with a more mobile, instinctive finisher.

With Sam Lammers, Todd Cantwell, Tom Lawrence, Ianis Hagi and Abdallah Sima all in support, the Rangers attack is as potent as it has looked for some time.

Given his pre-season form so far, a debut goal isn’t out of the question.
