Last summer, Michael Beale wasn’t quite given a blank cheque to rebuild the Rangers squad, however, he was given a free hand to sign whoever he wanted.

There was no director of football or sporting director to block any proposed moves and the former Gers boss seemed to be allowed to recruit solely from his little black book of players who he had been keeping an eye on.

It was a decision from the board that backfired spectacularly with the squad that was assembled lacking balance or any real sense with one of Beale’s misfits now destined for the Ibrox exit door.

There are a few names who Philippe Clement will want to move on like Sam Lammers with Todd Cantwell another who, seemingly, doesn’t fit into the manager’s plans

Another who has been reported as being near the top of the list of players that Clement wants to move on to free up space and bring in much-needed transfer funds is Cyriel Dessers

Cyriel Dessers transfer fee set as Rangers look to cash in

According to Chris Jack at The Rangers Review, a fee has been set for the Nigeria international.

Rangers paid Cremonese £4.5m last summer and this is what Rangers are hoping to get back.

The 29-year old might not be a good fit, however, with 22 goals and eight assists, he has proven that he can provide solid numbers in the right team, as he did at previous clubs in the past.

Already, clubs in Belgium, the Netherlands and Italy have been credited with an interest and now, Jack has claimed that there are now sides from Saudi Arabia, France and Spain.

Dessers fee should be attainable given Rangers numbers

Dessers is a good striker, he just isn’t the right striker for Rangers or Clement.

If Rangers are to press higher up the park, they need more pace and more mobility.

They also need a striker who isn’t afraid to shoot in big games and make more of the clear-cut opportunities that they get presented with.

In terms of replacements, Albion Rrahmani appears to be near the top of the shopping list with Rapid Bucharest softening on their stance now that they have signed a new striker

A fee similar to the one that Rangers are demanding for Dessers has been reported as being enough to sign the Kosovo internattional.

Whoever pays the £5m valuation first, will be the team to secure his services.

If Rangers can cash in on Dessers, it could well be Nils Koppen that manages to get the deal done.
