Social media is the modern back pages, the place where all football transfer rumours start and Conor Coady has fuelled a potential link to Rangers.
With Everton not taking up the £4.5m option to buy clause that they had agreed with Wolves, the 30-year old is now available on the open market.
A post on Instagram with a picture of Conor Coady’s kids seems innocent enough, until you realise that one of them is wearing a Rangers strip.

It’s the little things that make the difference.
With 10-caps for England, Coady won’t be short of offers.
But for Rangers, it is a link that makes a lot of sense.
Bigger clubs than Everton or Wolves are unlikely to attempt to sign him so the best place for him to player European football and, potentially, the Champions League, is Rangers.
The Michael Beale connection has already been mentioned with the Gers gaffer having been Coady’s manager in his late teens and early 20s.
Could Conor Coady be heading to Rangers?
Players aren’t stupid.
Coady will be fully aware that the link with Rangers has emerged given that Beale has talked about signing players who he knows or ones with a clear connection.
There was also his comment about players with “grey hairs”.
Coady falls into this category of being experienced but not yet old enough that you would call him a veteran.
Every successful Rangers team has been built on a successful defence and the individual components are there.
John Souttar will be key if we can keep him fit, Ridvan Yilmaz looks like a modern version of Davie Robertson and Connor Goldson has proven to be the glue that holds the back four together.
Adding Conor Coady to those that are already in place makes a lot of sense, and it looks like his son would be happy about it too – maybe his old man will be next.
