When Michael Beale opened up about wanting a Ryan Kent replacement for Rangers, little did we know that one player who might have been considered was Eden Hazard.
The Chelsea legend barely kicked a ball after moving to Spain and to play for Real Madrid which is a key factor in recent rumours of his impending retirement.
There were more than a few clubs who tried to tempt him into one last dance though and it may have been that Rangers provided Eden Hazard with an unusual proposition, if a report in AS is to be believed.

Much of the Eden Hazard to Rangers speculation has been social media gossip, even on a common sense level, a player of his reputation was always going to have options from Saudi Arabia and MLS that would blow our finances out of the water.
Eden Hazard to Rangers might have been on the table
According to Spanish media outlet AS though, there was an offer from Scotland, although, no specific club was named:

“Sources close to the operations confirmed that Hazard came to receive interesting offers from the United States, Saudi Arabia, England, Spain, France and even Scotland , but they would not have convinced him to return to dressing short.”

Of course, this could mean that Celtic enquired about the 126-cap Belgium international but the recent stories in the Scottish press all had Rangers as a possible interested party.
Eden Hazard hasn’t been the proper Eden Hazard for a long time.
On a purely footballing level, it would have been crazy to sign him.
Gone is the blistering pace over 5-10 yards and the lighting feet that he used to dance through opposition defences with.
His performances in the 2022 World Cup almost made you feel sorry for him, seeing such a player whose powers had diminished so considerably.
Eden Hazard might have had an offer from Rangers but, thankfully, Michael Beale can use the money for a forward that will be available every week as well as bring the extra numbers that he is looking for.
