Derek McInnes wants to sign wide players at Rangers this summer and is considering a move for Vaclav Cerny.

The Czech Republic international is currently plying his trade at Besiktas, and could leave for the right price.

Besiktas appear to be planning for Cerny’s exit, opening the door for the Light Blues to make a bid.

Richard Foster expects Findlay Curtis to benefit from Vaclav Cerny’s arrival

BBC pundit Richard Foster claims that Cerny’s return could be a good thing for Findlay Curtis.

He wants to see Curtis playing more games for Rangers, but admits that it is too early in his career for him to carry the team on his shoulders.

However, if Cerny is there, he will shoulder most of the creative load, allowing the teenager to thrive and grow as a player under Derek McInnes.

Which formation should Derek McInnes use at Rangers?

Given the players he's got so far, there are a number of ways that the team can play…

It will also give him a crucial period of time in the first team without having all the eyeballs and expectations on him.

Foster told Clyde 1 Superscoreboard: “Curtis comes back into the fold. I would like to see him play more games. But at his age, it’s a big ask to go out and be the main man for Rangers.

“With Cerny coming back, he has been there. His goals and assists are fantastic. So he knows what the expectations are. He’s a bit older, more mature, so he can probably cope with that pressure because he has already. I think Curtis could probably learn a lot from Cerny.”

Will Cerny and Curtis make Rangers’ strongest eleven?

With Mikey Moore and Andreas Skov Olsen returning to their parent clubs following their loan spells, the left and right wing spots are up for grabs.

Curtis proved that he’s ready for first-team football in the Scottish Premiership, following his loan spell at Kilmarnock last season.

That prepares him well for the challenge at Rangers this season, and he could make the left wing spot his own.

As for Cerny, his numbers for the Gers speak for themselves, and if he joins, he is going to be among the first names on the team sheet.

It remains to be seen, however, if McInnes can convince the 28-year-old to return to Ibrox.
