Rangers are keen on Aberdeen striker Bojan Miovski but former Ibrox captain Barry Ferguson believes the Scottish Premiership frontman is ‘overpriced’ at a rumoured £4.5 million.
Ferguson’s old employers have already come in for criticism after breaking the bank on a couple of misfiring forwards over the summer, Cyriel Dessers, Sam Lammers and arguably Danilo too yet to live up to their hefty price-tags. And, as far as the former Rangers skipper is concerned, history could repeat itself if Bojan Miovski ends up at Ibrox too.
According to the Scottish Sun, Rangers are ‘keeping tabs’ on the Montenegrin marksman.
And while Philippe Clement admitted on Friday that a number nine is likely to be one of his top ‘priorities’ ahead of the January window, Ferguson may be rather relieved to learn that Rangers are unlikely to turn their interest into anything more concrete as long as Aberdeen are demanding a fee in excess of £4 million.

Rangers like Aberdeen striker Bojan Miovski
“He misses chances but it never seems to affect him. He might miss one or two but gets in positions to take the next one,” Ferguson tells Go Radio.
“I think he’s overpriced though. I don’t think he’s worth £4.5 million.”
The Sun believe that Miovski, who has also been watched regularly by Celtic this term, could leave Pittodrie for a Premiership record fee. The Dons want more than the £4.4 million Celtic paid for Scott Brown back in 2007, currently the most expensive transfer deal between two top-flight Scottish clubs.
Kevin van Veen may be an option
Rangers could be tempted to go instead for a more affordable option such as Kevin van Veen, the 32-year-old former Motherwell talisman currently out of favour at Groningen. Van Veen may be only a short-term fix but that is perhaps all Rangers need.
Someone to step in and fill the void until Danilo is back to full fitness in the New Year.
There was, Van Veen says, ‘definitely interest from Rangers’ last summer.
