Rangers have been linked with Bologna midfielder Lewis Ferguson ahead of the summer transfer window.
Ferguson came up the ranks at Ibrox, but did not make a first-team debut for the Glasgow outfit.
He left for Hamilton Academical in 2013, before making a senior appearance for them four years later and then leaving for Aberdeen.
Would Rangers have won the league if they signed Lawrence Shankland instead of Youssef Chermiti?
Barry Ferguson believes a move for Lewis Ferguson would solely hinge on the transfer fee
Barry Ferguson was asked if Rangers would want to build their side around Lewis Ferguson.
He responded that any move to Ibrox would hinge on the transfer fee, but he is unsure how much Bologna want.
If the 26-year-old is in the Gers’ price range, Barry expects them to make a move for him, but also believes that there would be a lot of clubs interested in him.
Barry expects the attacking midfielder to move on from the Italian club at some stage, but does not know if it will be this summer.

He told Five Stars VIP: “A lot of people say: ‘I’m biased.’
“Of course, it’s not been the season that he’s probably wanted in Bologna.
“He’s been injured as well. He’s been in and out of the team, which is surprising, but listen, I think he’ll probably look to move at some stage.
“Why would you not be interested in a player of his quality? It depends on the price, really.
“I don’t know what figure Bologna would be looking for, but look, I think there’ll be a number of teams interested in Lew.”
Will Rangers sack Danny Rohl if they fail to win the league?
If he goes, who would be a good replacement for him?
Are Rangers likely to sign Ferguson?
Based on Barry’s comments, the Light Blues could look to do a deal if the conditions are right.
However, given the interest from other clubs, it will be difficult to bring the Scotland international to Ibrox.
Derek Ferguson stated he’s unlikely to return to Scotland, so that would make things more difficult for Rangers.
If they do manage to convince him, the deal is unlikely to be cheap, as Bologna are aware of the interest from other clubs.
Also, with the lack of Champions League revenue, there is a possibility that the Ibrox outfit may not even be able to afford his services.
