Arsenal defender Auston Trusty has taken to Twitter whilst on USA international duty as links to Rangers begin to cool due to the player’s apparent transfer valuation.
Currently on international duty with the USA, 24-year-old centre-back Auston Trusty claimed that it is “always an honour” to represent his country.
Trusty currently only has one cap for the USMNT but the defender has been called up to the squad for the forthcoming CONCACAF Nations League clash with Mexico on the 16th of June.
The centre-back – who was Birmingham City supporters’ Player of the Year last season – is also expected to be involved in the nation’s Gold Cup campaign which kicks off on the 25th of the month v Jamaica.
Auston Trusty takes to Twitter amid Rangers links
Whilst Auston Trusty wasn’t discussing his future on Twitter, the defender was sending a message to his 14.5k followers amid strong links between Rangers and current side Arsenal.
Rangers have been extensively linked with a summer move for the player but those links have cooled over the last few days amid suggestions the two clubs cannot agree on fee.
Reports have suggested Arsenal’s valuation of Auston Trusty is beyond what Rangers are willing to pay and as a result the Ibrox interest has now relented.

Rangers move on from Trusty links?
As Auston Trusty was taking to Twitter, Rangers are now said to have moved on in their pursuit of a new defender with Jonathan Panzo reportedly closing in on a move.
The former Chelsea youth centre-back spent last season on loan at Coventry City from Nottingham Forest and the latest suggests he’s closing in on a £2.5m move to Ibrox.
Rangers have already added versatile full-back Dujon Sterling to the club’s defensive ranks this season, whilst moves for midfielder Kieran Dowell and goalkeeper Jack Butland have also been confirmed by the club.
The Gers have also been strongly linked with moves for midfielder Jose Cifuentes, whilst there have been reports around Serie A striker pair Sam Lammers and Cyriel Dessers in recent weeks.
