“All I will say…” – Giant defender drops transfer hint after previous Rangers links

Rangers have been linked with a lot of players in the last 12 months, however, Harry Souttar seems to be mentioned on almost a weekly basis.

As a fan of the club, he would probably jump at the chance to head to Ibrox and be part of Gers boss Philippe Clement’s squad, especially given his current situation.

Currently away with Australia on international duty, Rangers-linked Harry Souttar has been speaking about his current frustrations and why a move away from Leicester City could be on the cards, as reported by Optus Sport.

Rangers can offer Harry Souttar way out of Leicester City

There isn’t much that the towering defender can do given that the Foxes sit top of the Championship and clear favourites to seal an automatic promotion place.

Having paid Stoke City £15m for his services, you would think that Leicester would want to recoup some of this money, even if he is still on a long-term contract.

Sitting on the bench and playing for Australia against Vietnam isn’t going to do his price tag any favours.

Perhaps more worryingly for the player is his place in the national team and he is fully aware of his predicament:

“All I will say is that obviously it’s not been great that I’ve not got match minutes at my club and obviously I know that that can’t continue if I want to be a part of the national team.”

“Obviously, any player just wants to play football so I’m looking at it as a positive that I’m here and I’m getting minutes and playing football, doing what I love again.”

Rangers will probably address the left-sided centre-half position in the summer because, unless there is a departure, there is no space for Harry Souttar.

Should Ben Davies be sold or, in the summer, Leon Balogun be allowed to leave at the end of his contract, there will be space.

The Souttar brothers back together playing for Rangers?

I know one person who would be happy about that – their Ibrox season ticket holding, Rangers supporting mum.
