Queen’s Park starlet Harris Afzal appears set to join his new club amid links to Rangers, Celtic and Crystal Palace.
Rangers are always keeping tabs on the best young players in the United Kingdom, as they could offer them a quicker pathway to regular first-team football compared to the Premier League clubs.
This is primarily why Ashton Scally is set to stay at Ibrox despite interest from Manchester City, Liverpool and Arsenal.

Harris Afzal reaches agreement to join Crystal Palace and Southampton
According to TEAMtalk, Afzal has agreed on terms with Crystal Palace and Southampton and will now have to decide on his next club.
The 16-year-old has been impressing at Queen’s Park, which has led to him garnering interest from a host of clubs.
In Scotland, the Old Firm duo have been impressed with the left-back, while in England, Crystal Palace and Southampton have been interested.
Despite Afzal agreeing on terms with Palace, Southampton remain in the picture and continue to push to secure his services.

These terms are believed to be favourable for Palace and the Saints, and it remains to be seen who wins the race.

He is delivering on his promises…
Why do Rangers want to sign Afzal?
Afzal is a highly rated Scottish prospect, and the Gers have made it a point to try and bring the best young players to Ibrox.
Rangers have been keeping tabs on him and monitoring his development closely through local scouts.
He has been earmarked as one of the next big things in Scottish football and has even drawn comparisons with Liverpool star Andy Robertson.

The youngster has been lauded for his athleticism and ability to be a potent threat from wide areas.
Afzal would have been a regular starter in the next three or four years if he continues developing the way he has.
However, with the two English sides firmly leading the chase to secure his services, Rangers will have to look at alternatives and the search is expected to be underway.
