Joe Gelhardt is expected to leave Leeds United this summer amid links to Rangers and Hull City.
Hull like Gelhardt and want to sign him following their promotion to the Premier League.
Rangers had a clearer run to sign him once Middlesbrough pulled out of the race, but there are still other clubs keen on securing his services.
Would you want Rangers to compete in the Europa League or the Conference League next season?
Money will be more in the Europa League, but the Conference League gives you a better chance of a European trophy…
Stephen Hunt backs Joe Gelhardt to thrive in the Premier League for Hull City
Stephen Hunt, who is an agent, formerly played for Hull City and believes that the Tigers will sign Gelhardt this summer.
In his view, the Liverpool-born striker will be a success in the Premier League as he has previously done it with Leeds United.
He sees Hull playing a 3-4-3 system in England’s top tier and has backed the 24-year-old to continue performing for them.
Which Rangers star will fare the best at the World Cup?
The Gers have six players at the tournament.
Gelhardt spent this past season on loan at the MKM Stadium, scoring 15 goals and providing five assists in 42 league games.
Speaking on the 1904 Club Podcast, Hunt said: “Joe Gelhardt, I think he’s a very, very good player. I think he can play in the Premier League. He never really had that opportunity. He had a flash with it with Leeds.
“I think he’s ready to play in the Premier League, and he can be effective. You look at Jarrod Bowen, who’s a left-footed right-winger who’s scored goals in the Premier League.
“You’d probably end up playing three along the top, 3-4-3 or whatever way you look at it, with two real sitters in midfield. It gives yourself a chance.”

Why missing out on Gelhardt is not a big loss for Rangers
Signing a new striker was not the priority for the Ibrox outfit this summer, but they still ended up securing the services of Lawrence Shankland.
As things stand, there are no plans to lose any of their strikers, Youssef Chermiti, Ryan Naderi or Bojan Miovski.
Having four strikers for potentially two regular starting positions is sufficient, and money needs to be spent on strengthening other areas.
The defence is undoubtedly weaker with the numerous exits, and those positions need to be filled in as soon as possible.
