Aberdeen appear to have exited the race for Derby left-back Max Lowe.
Earlier this week, the Daily Express reported that Rangers, the Dons, and Celtic were all chasing his signature.
Lowe spent the bulk of last season on loan at Pittodrie, impressing plenty of onlookers. He made 33 SPL appearances [Transfermarkt] and showed a willingness to get forward on the overlap.

However, it looks as though despite apparent interest from Derek McInnes, the 22-year-old won’t be returning for a second stint.
That’s because Aberdeen have signed a different left-back. Greg Leigh has arrived on a season-long loan deal, with the option of a permanent move, from NAC Breda.
The 24-year-old is a graduate of the Manchester City Academy. He’s also a former England youth international, who has previously turned out for Crewe Alexandra, Bradford City and Bury in the EFL.

It’s likely he has been brought in to be the first choice in that berth.
Therefore, it seems Rangers and Celtic have been left to battle it out for Lowe.
Rangers could do with a bit of reinforcement at left-back, too. Right now, Borna Barisic is the club’s only left-footed natural full-back and while fans are excited about what he might bring next season, he is injury prone.
Perhaps bringing Lowe to Ibrox, even on loan, would help keep the Croatian international on his toes and provide that bit more security.
