Derek McInnes is keen on bringing Hearts attacker Claudio Braga with him to Rangers ahead of the 2026/27 season.

The 54-year-old will already reunite with Lawrence Shankland, but wants his former teammate at Ibrox as well.

Braga had an incredible campaign under McInnes at Tynecastle, winning the PFA Scotland Premiership Player of the Year award.

Which Hearts player(s) would you like to see at Rangers next season?

Derek McInnes may be tempted to sign one or two this summer!

Hearts want at least £8m for Claudio Braga this summer

Hearts are understood to be willing to do a deal in the region of £8m and £10m for Braga amid interest from a number of clubs, according to the Hearts Standard.

Lyon are said to be the most advanced in their pursuit as they view the 26-year-old as one of their main forward targets this summer.

The Ligue 1 giants have even opened talks to sign the Portuguese attacker, and an exit looks on the cards in the coming weeks.

If Lewis Ferguson joins post the World Cup, who should Derek McInnes name the Rangers captain?

Hearts are in line to make a significant profit on Braga, having signed him for just £400,000 last summer.

While they would not want to lose one of their best players, such money is too good to turn down after just one year at the club.

McInnes wants Braga at Rangers, but he will know that it will be difficult to tempt him if he has his heart set on a move to Lyon.

Can Rangers afford to sign Braga?

At £10m, Braga would likely be the club’s most expensive signing of the summer transfer window.

They signed three new strikers last season in Bojan Miovski, Youssef Chermiti and Ryan Naderi, and brought in Shankland as well earlier this month.

As things stand, none of last year’s arrivals look like they will be leaving, so it makes little sense to sign Braga.

How should Derek McInnes utilise Bailey Rice at Rangers next season?

While the Light Blues can afford to sign the Portuguese winger, they would much rather spend big on bolstering their defence.

James Tavernier, Nasser Djiga, Jayden Meghoma and Max Aarons will not be there next season, and they need to be replaced.

If Chermiti or one of the other strikers do end up leaving before the window closes, the Gers surely will have alternative targets they can turn to.
