If Philippe Clement could get anything he wanted for Christmas, it would probably be a right winger for Rangers with the same goal scoring rate as Abdallah Sima, someone like Denis Bouanga, for example.
The Gers boss has promoted and trusted Ross McCausland but the 20-year old needs a bit of help and patience before becoming an Ibrox hero, although there is no doubt that he has cemented his place in the squad.
It’s a position that no manager seems to have got right but Rangers need to back the gaffer in January, if there is enough money for the once-linked Denis Bouanga, who is set to return to Europe according to L’Equipe, then he should be a consideration.

Rangers know price it would take for Denis Bouanga
When Michael Beale and James Bisgrove were in discussions to sign Jose Cifuentes from Los Angeles FC, they should have asked how much it would take to bring the Gabon international back across the Atlantic.
With 31 goals and 10 assists in 40 games for the MLS season that LAFC narrowly missed out on ending as MLS Cup champions, Denis Bouanga produced exactly the type of numbers that Clement will be looking for when he goes shopping for reinforcements.
Apparently, the winger wants to return to Europe for personal reasons and the rumoured price tag has been set in the region of £7.8m to £8.6m.
There were similar reports when Rangers signed Cifuentes but the final fee paid for the Ecuador international was only £1.2m.
The stumbling block wouldn’t be entertaining the sort of fee mentioned for the right player but the fact that Denis Bouanga is 29-years old would.
For a club looking to develop a player trading model, we already have Cyriel Dessers and Sam Lammers who cost a lot of money who won’t return a profit in the future.
The most likely move is a return to France and Ligue 1 where Rangers first noticed his talents, it’s just a shame that isn’t when we made more of an effort to sign him too.
