A reported Alfredo Morelos transfer bid from Bordeaux has caught people’s eye this morning. Don’t panic – it won’t even make Rangers’ star man flinch.

Morelos is happy, scoring goals and seems to be loving life at Ibrox. And that’s before mentioning how much Bordeaux are undervaluing the player.

At £3.75mn, Morelos’ value to Rangers is much higher than that. I think everyone can agree.

It’s not the first time the young Colombian has been the subject of international interest. In the January window last season there were reports Chinese Super League outfit Beijing Renhe reportedly made an Alfredo Morelos transfer bid to the tune of £11mn.

With things less stable at Ibrox and a poor playing squad, the interest affected Morelos form and he didn’t quite look like the goalscoring force who’d started the season.

Things are much different now. Morelos is settled. He’s the fan favourite. He’s relishing every second in a Rangers shirt.

Steven Gerrard also seems to have cooled the youngster’s firey temperament and looks a positive influence on his development.

The young Colombian is a natural goalscorer and has already contributed three goals this season.

He has scored three times in seven appearances this season and is an active, lively force at the pinnacle of Rangers’ attack. At 22-years-old, Morelos still has plenty of developing to do and now seems a snip at the £1mn Rangers paid to HJK Helsinki last year. He’s still plenty of developing to do.

Morelos scored 18 goals last season and going by current form, is good for more than that this year.

By rejecting this not inconsiderable bid on the eve of such an important Europa League fixture, Rangers fans could be forgiven for panicking over losing their star man. Or of it affecting his performance.

It just feels like there’s not a chance the wee man would give us a reason to.
