Celtic manager bombarded with Rangers conspiracies by rival fan media

As Celtic unveiled their new manager Ange Postecoglou to the club’s leading fan media, it should’ve been highly predictable that Rangers might form part of the conversation.

After all – and whilst there is plenty of professional Celtic fan media out there – some of their support’s most prominent bloggers are no strangers to the Rangers.

But no-one – I repeated absolutely no-one – could’ve predicted the depths of moonhowlery which were plunged of a Friday afternoon as the Celtic manager was unveiled.

Aussie coach Ange Postecoglou knows he’s coming into a wounded animal in Celtic but unless he’s been scouting some of the more niche fan media prior to joining it’s hard to imagine he’ll know just how wounded.

But the ex-Yokohama F. Marinos boss got a flavour for the fanatic as he fielded questions – or rather statements – on everything from refereeing conspiracies to financial irregularities to fit and proper persons and SFA governance.

It wasn’t just one either; Postecoglou looked genuinely gobsmacked as two separate outlets, given the opportunity to ask him anything, asked about Rangers, without actually saying Rangers.

It is a sight to behold and shows just how nuclear an impact last season had on these guys – check out both questions below:

First up is this gentleman, who talks up a refereeing conspiracy before pleading with Big Ange – who looks like he wants the walls to cave in at this point – not to pull a Tony Mowbray.

Whatever the heck that means.

And then there was this wonderful effort from another supporter who was asking a football manager with no prior links to the country and the club’s new chief exec about an SFA conspiracy.

“You know that the SFA is an anarchic, and frankly, not fit for purpose organisation.”

Dominic McKay just about rescues big Ange from drowning by answering this completely loaded question about what – we can oly assume – is Rangers spending to win the title.

Both these clips are 100% genuine and it isn’t just in Rangers circles that they’re gathering attention.

There will be a few brass necks in Glasgow’s eastend as the videos make their way around the globe with journalist Ewan Murray tweeting in astonishment.

This appointment is such a majorly risky one that the Ibrox club have a massive opportunity to extend the Banter Era under Postecoglou – and we’re off to some start.
