Rangers’ confidence boosting 4-0 victory over St Mirren saw hitman Kemar Roofe net a hattrick in the perfect preparation for a tough month up top as the club’s main man.
The ex-Leeds United and Anderlecht striker netted three goals in the win in Paisley with Joe Aribo rounding off the scoring with a stunner from the edge of the box.
Kemar Roofe has largely had to play second fiddle to Alfredo Morelos since coming into the club but due to an injury sustained by the Colombian, Rangers’ hopes this season rest on the Jamaican international.
The club remain in the hunt on three fronts, albeit the Scottish Premiership is now a long shot, and the last few matches have been overshadowed by accusations of a blunt attack.

Alfredo Morelos is so often talismanic for Rangers and he offers so much more than just goals for the side, his bustling, physical and often selfless presence a feature of Rangers when they’re on song.
But the club must find a way of adapting to the loss and in Kemar Roofe they have a predatory striker who can find the back of the net with the appropriate service.
His first goal v St Mirren came early on in the game, Rangers striker Roofe smartly turning into a Ryan Kent cross from the left-hand side with his head.
The striker would then double the Rangers lead in similar fashion, this time nodding home from a James Tavernier cross on the opposite side.
After some smart work from Fashion Sakala and Joe Aribo early in the second half, Kemar Roofe would pounce on the loose ball to fire home his third.
With it comes a renewed sense of belief in the striker amid the absence of Alfredo Morelos and let’s hope these goals serve as a confidence booster for the matches ahead.
