Rangers Player of the Year Allan McGregor’s flapping attempt to catch a corner might’ve led to Hearts’ equaliser but the keeper has more than enough credit in the bank at Ibrox.
The moment highlighted that Greegsy is human after all following a spate of impressive saves in the match which kept Rangers in front in the tie.

In front of him – and whilst at times the Gers played their best football of the season – the keeper was let down with some profligate finishing in front of goal.
By the time the Jambos’ had earned the corner from which Craig Halkett equalised in the 1-1 draw, McGregor had kept out a series of Hearts efforts whilst Rangers had spurned a host of chances.
It was certainly uncharacteristic from the legendary Gers stopper as he flapped when coming out for the corner but even Steven Gerrard agrees he was “stitched up” by wasteful teammates.
“I was frustrated by the outcome because I think we did enough to win the game,” Gerrard told RangersTV.
“I don’t know how many but we must have had over 20/25 chances to score goals today and we haven’t been ruthless in the final third and we paid in the end.
“I thought Hearts grew into the second half but first half we were outstanding but you have to go and get the second and third goals.
“We created enough to get those goals but we weren’t ruthless enough and we have paid for it.
“That first half performance will take us to where we want to get to but the second half I don’t think we came up with the same intent, urgency.
“I thought we got a little bit soft as the game went on. The game is about both boxes, you have got to take your chances.
“At 1-0 we had four/five really top chances to go and kill that game.
“We haven’t so we have almost stitched Greegsy up because the headlines will be Allan McGregor should have dealt with the cross.
“But I think we stitched him up today because we should have scored the second, the third and fourth goal to kill that game before that moment comes.”
Rangers remain top of the Scottish Premiership by single point but this is certainly two points dropped from the Ibrox side and a major disappointment.
Whilst McGregor might have credit in the bank, one player who continues to frustrate is slowly running down his domestic credit with the Gers fans.
