Rangers striker Alfredo Morelos might have some cash in the bank when it comes to life at Ibrox, but after yet another profligate showing in front of goal against Hearts, the reserves are dwindling.
Colombian forward Morelos is sitting on 99 goals for the Ibrox club and in the 1-1 draw against Hearts at Ibrox it’s difficult to understand exactly why the striker didn’t become the latest Ibrox centurion.

Morelos passed up chance after chance in both halves as the striker struggled to force the ball into the back of the net against the Jambos.
The striker’s lack of cutting edge would then go on to cost the Ibrox side dearly as Rangers conceded a late equaliser and dropped two points to the still unbeaten Edinburgh side.
In the first half the striker should’ve had the opener but dragged the ball wide past Craig Gordon’s post with a low effort.
Late on in the second, the striker should’ve had Rangers out of sight as he slid wide following a cross from Kemar Roofe when he in fact looked odds on to score.
Whilst Rangers at times played the best they have all season – the neat interplay particularly in the first half a throwback to the last campaign – with a misfiring Morelos the club’s arrowhead was blunt.
Rangers lacked the penetration that the forward so often provides and scuppering a range of openings beyond these two main chances it set the side up for a fail.
Morelos will have better days in a Rangers shirt – and he will reach that century – but his record of one league goal in three months has plenty asking if the striker has run his Ibrox race.
With 18 months left on his contract and Morelos himself talking up his ambitions to move elsewhere, for some, showings like the Hearts one indicate that the end is nearing for the striker.

Newcastle United have been linked [Express] and there’s now a discussion over whether the Gers should entertain offers for a player who is not quite hitting the heights of previous campaigns.
The player’s cash in the bank amongst the Gers support isn’t the only thing dwindling either as the club now appear unlikely to be able to recoup the £20m the Ibrox side once rated the Colombian international.
Whilst Morelos’ wasteful showing has been met with criticism, one player’s impressive performance and post-match comments have been praised by fans.
