Rangers striker Alfredo Morelos has missed yet another World Cup qualifier for Colombia after a muscle overload ruled the player out of his side’s crucial 3-0 win over Bolivia.
This isn’t the first time the 25-year-old has suffered international anguish, with the national tea manager Reinaldo Rueda calling him up for the previous two qualifiers in February, yet Morelos didn’t make the squad of either match.

This prompted many Rangers fans to complain as he missed the Old Firm match in which we lost 3-0. If he had played, the result may have been different.
Rangers striker Alfredo Morelos suffers more Colombian anguish as World Cup dream in the balance
The Gers talisman was ruled out of the tie through injury which was reported by journalist Pipe Sierra, and he could face an Old Firm sweat with only nine days until what could be a season-defining clash.
If we harbour any ambitions of retaining our league title, then the club needs everyone fit and ready to give 100%. Morelos is key to Gio’s system and the Ibrox side must do everything in their power to make sure he is ready for the Celtic clash.
There is no point in him lingering about the Colombia squad if he won’t get a chance to feature in the next match against Venezuela.
Goals by Luis Diaz, Miguel Borja and Mateus Uribe saw the side ease to a 3-0 win over Bolivia and they need to beat Venezuela in their next match and hope results go their way in order to finish in fifth place and grab the playoff spot.

If they do qualify for their third straight World Cup appearance, it’s looking increasingly likely that Morelos won’t feature at the highest level.
