Rangers star Aaron Ramsey starred for Wales last night in their World Cup qualification playoff semi-final win over Austria, as Gareth Bale stole the show with two goals and gave Wales the chance to end 64 years of hurt.
The hosts took a two-goal lead through the Real Madrid man, who seems to raise his game every time he plays for his country. First, a stunning free-kick before an equally as impressive second strike just after the break looked like the killer blow to Austria’s chances.

To their credit, they made it a nervy last half an hour as Marcel Sabitzer scored on the 64th minute but Wales held on to win 2-1 and now face either Scotland or Ukraine in the playoff final.
Aaron Ramsey starred for Wales as World Cup dream edges ever closer
Much was made of Ramsey’s move to Rangers on deadline day, and whether his fitness would be an issue or not.
After a rocky start, where he got minutes here and there, the Welshman has started Rangers’ last two domestic matches and if this performance for Wales is anything to go by, we could see him make a massive difference to the Ibrox side in the title run-in.
Hopefully, this result can give him a confidence boost and if Giovanni van Bronckhorst manages to keep him fit and firing, it could be vital.
If Scotland qualifies for the playoff final by defeating Ukraine (whenever the match will take place) then they will find a tough Welsh side awaiting them. With a fit Ramsey and Bale in their starting XI, then they must believe they can take on the world.

With the careers these two men have had alone, Wales deserves to play at a World Cup, and it would be the perfect international send-off.
