Rangers star Connor Goldson features in the WhoScored SPFL Team of the Week following his match-winning goal that secured the Ibrox side all three points in what was a must-win clash against bottom of the table Dundee.

Dundee took an early lead and capitalised on some poor first-half performances from the Rangers side as it looked like we were about to suffer another European hangover.

Whatever was said at the interval clearly worked, as an Arron Ramsey equaliser was followed by a Goldson winner with just a few minutes to go and keep pace with Celtic at the top of the Scottish Premiership table.

Rangers defender Connor Goldson makes WhoScored SPFL Team of the Week

Goldson is the only Rangers representative on the stat outlets Team of the Week and his score of 7.8 reflects his performance and match-winning goal which is absolutely massive for the club.

The Englishman’s contract expires at the end of the season and with talks still rumbling along, this could well be his final season in Glasgow.

Its clear at the start of the season that his performances weren’t up to the standard of the league-winning campaign, with his comments after the League Cup semi-final, which was lost to Hibs, looking like he had thrown in the towel.

Since Giovanni van Bronckhorst arrived, however, he has improved and remains a constant fixture in the side at the heart of defence.

With the club signing John Souttar on a pre-contract deal and the interest in Danilho Doekhi not going away, then the Ibrox might be planning for life without the defender.

Whatever happens, it’s fair to say he has played his part during the club’s most memorable title triumph and for that, we have to thank him.

Meanwhile, it looks like Aaron Ramsey is getting the Rangers bug having scored his first goal for the club against Dundee.
