Rangers star Alfredo Morelos could fulfil a long-held dream tonight by turning out in the Copa America for Colombia against Peru.
Morelos made his senior debut for La Tricolor in 2018 but has spoken before about a specific dream to appear in the Copa America [Herald], something he has not yet achieved.

The 24-year-old was omitted from the Colombia squad for the 2019 edition of the competition and has missed out on selection for his side’s opening two matches of the current tournament after recovering from Covid-19.
However, ahead of a clash against Peru tonight, manager Reinaldo Rueda has hinted that he’s going to make changes to his side.
“These tournaments give the possibility of having that alternation in the players, of giving rest to the players,” he said [translated]. “There are many factors that will allow to make a change at a certain moment.”
With Morelos the only one of four Colombia strikers not to feature so far in the competition, it’s fair to assume that he has a good chance of being involved in the clash in Goiânia, Brazil.
Colombia are currently second in Group A behind the hosts with four points from two matches, while Peru lost their opening fixture 4-0, so if El Bufalo does get a runout, he’ll likely fancy his chances of adding to his tally of one senior international goal.
There’s plenty of transfer speculation surrounding Morelos right now but Rangers fans were quick to laugh off one claim from a Brazilian journalist.
