Rangers may be tempted to bring back one of their former players on a free transfer this summer.

Given how inflated the market is, the Light Blues have looked to pockets in Europe and America to sign unearthed talents for a low price.

However, whenever there is a chance to bring in someone proven for the right money, Rangers have considered going ahead with that deal.

Now that Danny Rohl seems set to leave Rangers, how would you rate his time at the club?

Former Rangers ace Joe Aribo released by Southampton

Joe Aribo, who left Ibrox for Southampton back in 2022, has officially been released by the south coast outfit ahead of the new season.

The Saints paid £6m upfront for him, but the total package meant that the deal could rise to £10m as well.

Now, he will be available on a free transfer and could tempt Rangers, as he enjoyed a great three-year stint there.

The 29-year-old made 149 appearances in all competitions for the Ibrox outfit, scoring 26 goals and providing 25 assists.

His versatility meant that he was deployed as a right winger, left winger, central midfielder, attacking midfielder, as well as a makeshift left-back.

While his Southampton career and subsequent loan move to Leicester did not pan out too well, he could still have an impact if he returns to the Light Blues.

Which of these three managers would you prefer at Rangers?

Why the decision on Aribo may take some time

At 29, Aribo could still be someone capable of making a difference in the Scottish Premiership.

He was among the first names on the team sheet under Steven Gerrard and undoubtedly was a fan favourite.

While his career may not have panned out as many thought that it would, he still is someone who could strengthen the first team.

However, any new transfer decision will be on pause, at least for the next few days, as the club sort out their managerial situation.

What would your concerns be about Derek McInnes replacing Danny Rohl?

Danny Rohl appears all set to leave Rangers and join RB Salzburg, with the decision expected to be confirmed imminently.

Derek McInnes seems to be his likely replacement, and it remains to be seen if he rates the Nigeria international.

Until the new manager has been confirmed, the Gers are not expected to make moves on any transfer targets.
