Ally McCoist is a Rangers legend and if you take his managerial career away he is borderline immortal within the walls of Ibrox. In fact he probably still is.
With ten league titles, multiple cups, two European Golden Boot awards, and a place on the Ballon d”Or shortlist at the peak off his powers – coming 21st in 1987 – we will be lucky to see Ally McCoist‘s like again.

Rangers fans would have wanted nobody to succeed more than Super Ally when he took charge in 2011, succeeding his mentor and friend Walter Smith.
With just one season in the top flight, a massive points deduction and having to sell his best player halfway through the season, McCoist was always up against it.
The pundit of the year winner was the heartbeat of the club in 2012 and gave his famous “have a right good kick” speech as a rousing call to arms.
Which makes his faux pas on Talksport all the more hurtful.
What exactly has Rangers great Ally McCoist done?
Coining the “yer club’s deid” patter, Celtic fans have used “Kernkraft 400” by Zombie Nation during Old Firm derbies to rub it in ever since Rangers went into administration in 2012.
McCoist was clipped singing along to the song on TalkSPORT radio,
You would think that a Rangers fan and former Rangers player/manager would be more aware of this sort of thing.
The thread on Twitter underneath Talksport’s post, predictably, had comments from our noisy neighbours gloating at McCoist’s slip up.
He might have let his guard down on this occasion, however, if they want to compare former players who are now pundits and judge them by their actions, it’s not really much of a competition.
Shock jock Chris Sutton, who has a different persona depending on what station he is on, John Hartson, who doesn’t understand basic laws of the game and Andy Walker are all of a green and white persuasion.
Between them, you’d struggle to find a coherent thought on the beautiful game.
McCoist, on the other hand, is loved and revered by fans around the country.
He might not be perfect, but he’s ours.
