Rangers fans have had their say on Youssef Chermiti’s future on GRV Media’s TalkingPoints platform, and the conversation is only getting started.

Despite spending only a year at Ibrox, the Portuguese striker has been subject to growing interest in the transfer window.

Rangers rejected Lyon’s Chermiti bid as it fell way short of their valuation, and the Ligue 1 side have not yet returned with a better offer.

While most Gers fans would want the 22-year-old to stay put, they have explored the possibility of cashing in on him.

16% of Rangers fans believe Chermiti is worth more than £30m

Rangers News polled over 1,400 fans to ask them their view on Youssef Chermiti ahead of a potential sale this summer.

There were 16 per cent of supporters who believe that the former Everton forward can command more than £30m this summer.

That would mean making nearly a 300 per cent profit from the striker despite him being at the club for only a year.

Over 67 per cent of the fans believe that the Gers can demand a fee between £20m and £30m, which is where the hierarchy value him at.

Rangers News understands that the club are holding out for £25m for Chermiti, subject to negotiations.

However, he still has not completely won over the fanbase, as there are 230 voters who think that he is worth less than £20m.

What fans have said about Chermiti’s departure

Regular TalkingPoints user @jjamieson1962 does not want Chermiti sold, but is aware that the club is run like a business and money is ultimately what talks.

He wrote: “Should not be sold, but money talks. £25 million, 20 per cent sell-on clause.”

@robertdelussey has undoubtedly been impressed with Chermiti’s performances for Rangers and replied: “Above 30 million.”

@dantowen81951 wants the club to make a sizeable profit from his sale, and they did pay big money to land him from Everton last summer.

He wrote: “Considering how much Rangers paid, they’ve gotta be demanding a sizeable profit. Rather just keep him around and see where his value is in 12 months.”

Despite the big-money talk, @stewartjohn086 does not want the club to consider his sale, no matter how much money has been put on the table.

He commented: “Improved beyond all recognition as the season progressed. Must keep him.”
