Young Boys manager Gerardo Seoane has sent a battle cry to his injury-ravaged squad as they prepare to face Rangers in the Europa League.
The Swiss boss was proud of his battle-hardened side as they overcame Sion 3-2 in the Swiss League despite having eight players out with injury.
Despite the injury crisis, Seoane, 40, insists that his side can rally together and overcome the challenge of Rangers this week.
“The team were suffering – to have eight players out of the game was incredible,” said Gerardo Seoane [Daily Record].
“But we overcame all the obstacles and produced a terrific win. It shows we have a great squad available to us.
“Against Rangers, we will have the same injury problems, but it’s our home game and we have to find a way to get a win in the Europa League.
“I know we are capable of getting the three points.”
The comments of Seoane come after reports had suggested that Young Boys would be without six players going into the tie with Rangers [Scottish Sun].
It means that Rangers could be handed a major advantage in the tie with the likes of former Ajax winger Miralem Sulejmani, Marvin Spielmann, Guinea international centre-back Mohamed Ali Camara, midfielder Sandro Lauper and Luxembourg international Christopher Martins set to miss out.
One player who should be playing come Thursday night is the on-fire Jean-Pierre Nsamé.
Rangers must find a way to cope with the striker who has scored 12 goals in 14 games this season.
