Rangers tie with St. Johnstone on the 16th of February is now a sell-out on the Club’s website as the sterling Rangers support continues to outdo itself.
Of course, more tickets may become available through secondary ticketing in the coming weeks. If that’s the case, don’t be surprised if they’re snapped up as well.
But as Rangers fans continue to flock to Ibrox, is it time the Board looked at a feasible plan for stadium expansion?
Fans have regularly made Ibrox a sell-out ever since the Shkupi match at the beginning of the season. The loyalty of the supporters is unmatched by anyone in Scotland, potentially the UK. The fact there’s a scramble for tickets every time they go on sale proves it.
Especially when you consider what supporters have been through over the last few years.

The added income an extra 5-10k seats would bring the club would help us grow. However, during this development stage of our return to the top of the game, any investment in this could prove high risk.
But it is something the Rangers Board should consider going forward. It is something previous regimes have considered before and something which is also a very real prospect.
Fans will readily respond by selling the seats out, and Rangers will get more matchday income and more bodies in a swelling Ibrox.
It would also help push us even higher above some of world football’s biggest clubs. We currently boast the 13th highest attendance figures in European football.
