Rangers fans haven’t seen a lot of Netherlands U21 international Neraysho Kasanwirjo since his summer loan move from Feyenoord.
But what the Ibrox support have seen, they very much like with the 22-year-old versatile defender impressing with his composed, technical and physical displays.
Now, Rangers fans have had the chance to see what Neraysho Kasanwirjo can do on international duties and the defender played a crucial role as the young Dutch overcame Sweden.

Neraysho Kasanwirjo shines for Netherlands U21s
Neraysho Kasanwirjo, or Nana as he is known amongst teammates, started for the Netherlands U21 in their European Championship Qualifying clash with Sweden.
Starting at left-back – the same position Nana started in Sweden against Malmo – the versatile defender made another big case for more minutes at Ibrox.
In only the second minute, Kasanwirjo made a telling impact by swinging a stunning deep cross into the box for Emanuel Emegha to nod the Dutch in front.
Fifteen minutes later, the big Rangers defender was at it again.
This time Kasanwirjo dug out a left-footed cross which found evaded the heads of everyone in the box and landed perfectly on the foot of Rav van den Berg.
The Netherlands would go on to win the match 3-0, with a Noah Ellie own goal completing the scoring but it was Neraysho Kasanwirjo’s double-assist which formed the foundation of the victory.
The result also means an impressive Dutch side have won ten out of ten matches in Euro U21 qualifying with the Netherlands clearly one of the frontrunners to lift the tournament in Slovakia.
Feyenoord loanee tight-lipped on Rangers future
After an impressive performance with the Netherlands U21s, Rangers fans will hope to see more of Neraysho Kasanwirjo this season.
On a season long loan with option-to-buy, Rangers will be mulling over a more long-term deal for the Feyenoord loanee as Philippe Clement rebuilds the Ibrox squad.
Touching on the Rangers manager come full-time, Kasanwirjo has hailed Clement’s ‘direct’ style of play as he reflected on a ‘flawless’ qualification period.
The Dutch defender was also in no mood to give anything away when when asked if he would be returning to De Kuip next season.
“I was well received in Scotland,” Kasanwirjo said, as quoted by Voetbal Primuer. “The coach is very direct and I need that.
“Feyenoord next year? Who knows…”
