Rangers are in ‘advanced talks’ with a US-based consortium led by 49ers Enterprises president Paraag Marathe.
The group are reportedly willing to purchase a controlling stake in Rangers of more than 50%, which would allow them to steer the Ibrox giants in the direction they please.
49ers Enterprises is the investment arm of NFL team San Francisco 49ers and already hold full ownership of EFL Championship side Leeds United.
Rangers are said to be valued at £100m and it is being reported that a takeover deal could be completed between April and June this year.
Marathe is the key player behind the investment talks and is said to be supported by an unnamed American business mogul.
Rangers News understands Marathe won’t be installed as chairman of the Ibrox club upon completion of the takeover.
