Last month it looked like Glenn Middleton was about to farmed out on loan to League One Doncaster.
The talented 19-year-old winger was said to be close to securing a year-long loan to the South Yorkshire club.
Middleton had even followed the Donny on Twitter as he closed in on a move to the Keepmoat Stadium.

But right in the middle of the entire process, Doncaster manager Grant McCann was appointed boss of Championship outfit Hull City.
Since then, any reports on Middleton’s future and any talk of his move to Doncaster has appeared to dry up. That’s despite McCann claiming a move was some way down the line.

Doncaster are also yet to appoint a new boss, with midfielder Ali Crawford pleading with fans to remain patient whilst the search continues.
The new manager may want to put his own stamp on proceedings at Rovers and thus any moves could be embargoed until such a time.
At the same time, McCann may well have been a pivotal factor in both Rangers and Glenn Middleton deciding that the Keepmoat is the right place for the winger’s development.

Whatever the case, the fact Rangers looked to have arranged the loan move suggests Middleton will be sent out on loan this season.
League One has proven a strong development ground for the Rangers side, with Greg Docherty excelling on-loan at Shrewsbury Town last season.
