Rangers youngster Nathan Young-Coombes might have only signed for the club last month, but he’s already grabbing the attention of the Rangers support. And the headlines.
The young English forward has been lighting up the Middle East with his displays in the Qatari based ALKASS Cup. Rangers have taken a team of U17s along to the tournament. So far, they’ve certainly not let the club down either.
Rangers progressed to the semi-finals of the competition after a resounding 7-0 win against Tunisian outfit Étoile Sportive du Sahel (ESS). Nathan Young-Coombes, 16, was at the centre of the victory.
The former Chelsea and Crystal Palace youth international banged in a classy hattrick for the young Bears and was named the match’s MVP.
The first is a sublime, low driven finish into the bottom corner. The keeper didn’t stand a chance. The second, a deft, creative chip over the onrushing goalkeeper, shows off the England youth international’s confidence and technique.
The third and final goal is a real poacher’s effort as he picks up a rebound and slots it into an empty net. Still only 16, he looks a real prospect and a shrewd signing for the academy.

Rangers progress to the semi-finals of the competition which includes U17 sides from the academies of Real Madrid, PSG, Roma and Bayern Munich.
Rangers will face either Real Madrid or Kashiwa Reysol in the semi-final. They play their quarter final tie later today. The semi final will take place Wednesday 13th February at 1:35pm UK time.
